CERN has a prestigious Fellowship Programme for graduates and post-graduates. As a complement to the Fellowship Programme, the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme Marie Curie Actions provide unique working and training opportunities for up to 3 years.
Some positions are at CERN, others may be at partner institutes, universities or companies elsewhere in Europe. The main disciplines of projects in which CERN is involved are:
- experimental and theoretical particle physics; astroparticle physics and cosmology; controls technologies;
- accelerator & detector technology: cryogenics, magnets, radio frequency, vacuum;
- information technology, data acquisition and online storage;
- electrical engineering and electronics;
- life sciences with particular emphasis on hadron therapy.

There are currently great opportunities for Early Stage and Experienced Researchers to be Marie Curie Fellows at CERN and across Europe. In addition to attractive employment conditions, Marie Curie Fellows receive a generous training allowance and a wealth of opportunities for training in technical and management areas. There are a few eligibility conditions:

Limit of 12 months residence in previous 36 months in the country of the institute/university you are applying to. Generally speaking, you cannot be recruited as a Marie Curie Fellow in your own country.
