Applications are invited for a PhD position in the Department of Civil and Environmental (HKUST) under the supervision of Dr. Elias Dimitrakopoulos. The research will be focused on Bridge Engineering and Structural Dynamics. Eligibility
This is a call for high caliber candidates with a bachelor degree and masters in civil engineering, who wish to pursue a PhD degree in Civil Engineering at the HKUST.
English Requirements:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
Paper-based test (PBT) score ≥ 650, Internet-based test (iBT) score ≥ 95
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall score ≥ 7.0, all sub-scores ≥ 6.0
Funding
The standard studentship is approximately HK$13,700 per month tax free. Strong candidates will be supported to apply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2014/15. The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$240,000 (approximately US$30,000) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year, for 3 years.
