The EUI programme offers excellent opportunities for talented young economists. PhD candidates are offered extensive training - both in terms of courses and in terms of guidance for their research. They attend a full sequence of PhD courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics, and a wide selection of advanced optional courses. Candidates are closely supervised by experienced senior faculty members throughout the programme.
All students admitted to the programme are awarded full financial support.
The Department of Economics at the EUI provides a lively, stimulating and hard-working environment for research. There are weekly seminars in all main fields and a large number of high profile short-term and long-term visitors and post-doctoral fellows. PhD candidates have the opportunity to attend many EUI conferences and guest-speaker events.
All information about the Department, the PhD programme and application procedures can be found in the attached flyer, or on our web page.
