The fellow's research activities will be carried out at the premises of SEERC in Thessaloniki, and in close collaboration with other researchers from the RELATE network and the University of Sheffield – the Computer Science Departments of the Faculty of Engineering and the International Faculty. The 24-month post includes two research visits to Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and CAS Software AG in Karlsruhe, Germany, for a total period of 6 months.
The Marie Curie Experienced Researcher to be appointed will be employed by SEERC under a full-time fixed-term contract with full social security coverage and all benefits in accordance to Marie Curie ITN fellowship regulations (highly competitive remuneration/allowances for living expenses, mobility, travel, and career exploratory activities).

The fellow will join the Information & Knowledge Management research group at SEERC (www.seerc.org/ikm), and will work on research topics at the intersection of cloud application platforms and ontology-driven systems engineering, such as ontology-driven development of cloud applications and ontology-driven adaptation and self-management of cloud application platforms.
In accordance to the eligibility regulations for Marie Curie ITNs, the fellows to be appointed must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host organisation’s country (Greece) for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the appointment date. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.
In addition, applicants for the Experienced Researcher position should fulfil the following conditions: (i) hold (or be close to obtaining) a doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related area, and (ii) have less than 5 years of full-time equivalent research experience at the time of their appointment (an applicant’s period of full-time study towards obtaining a PhD is considered full-time equivalent research experience).
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding research record, be highly motivated and proactive, have excellent organisation and communication skills, and be eager to disseminate research results through publications and presentations at international conferences and seminars. Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
Past experience in related areas, such as cloud computing, service-oriented computing, ontology-driven information systems engineering, or knowledge representation and reasoning, will be evaluated positively.
