The fellows' research activities will be carried out at the premises of SEERC in Thessaloniki, and in close collaboration with other researchers from the RELATE network and the University of Sheffield – the Computer Science Departments of the Faculty of Engineering and the International Faculty. As part of their 36-month contracts, the two fellows will spend 4-6 months visiting one or more of SEERC’s collaborating partners in Germany and the UK.
The Marie Curie Early Stage Researchers to be appointed will be employed by SEERC under full-time fixed-term contracts with full social security coverage and all benefits in accordance to Marie Curie ITN fellowship regulations (highly competitive remuneration/allowances for living expenses, mobility, travel, and career exploratory activities).

The fellows will join the Information & Knowledge Management research group at SEERC (www.seerc.org/ikm), and will work on research topics at the intersection of cloud application platforms and ontology-driven systems engineering, such as ontology-driven development of cloud applications and ontology-driven adaptation and self-management of cloud application platforms.
In accordance to the eligibility regulations for Marie Curie ITNs, the fellows to be appointed must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the host organisation’s country (Greece) for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the appointment date. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.
In addition, applicants for the Early Stage Researcher positions should fulfil the following conditions: (i) must have *not* yet been awarded a doctoral degree, (ii) must be, at the time of recruitment, in the first four years (fulltime equivalent) of their research careers, measured from the date they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, (iii) should hold a good first degree in Computer Science or related area, as well as a postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant.
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding academic record, be highly motivated and proactive, have excellent organisation and communication skills, and be eager to disseminate research results through publications and presentations at international conferences and seminars. Fluency in English is a prerequisite.
Any past experience in related areas, such as cloud computing, service-oriented computing, ontology-driven information systems engineering, or knowledge representation and reasoning, will be evaluated positively.
